IGF-1 LR3 1.0 mg

IGF-1 LR3 is an 83-residue recombinant analogue of human insulin-like growth factor 1. It differs from the 70-residue parent chain in two defined ways: arginine replaces glutamic acid at position 3, and a 13-residue N-terminal extension is appended. The material is supplied as a lyophilized solid.

The receptor of record is the type 1 insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF1R). Affinity is quantified by radioligand displacement against membranes prepared from IGF1R-expressing cells, and receptor autophosphorylation is read by ELISA or Western blot in cultured cell lines. The two sequence changes are characterised analytically by comparative binding measurement against the IGF- binding proteins in solution-phase and surface-plasmon-resonance formats. Reported values are binding constants and receptor phosphorylation signal in these defined systems.
